What is Carob? (Dog Safe Chocolate Substitute)
The compound that makes chocolate toxic for dogs (theobromine) is not present in Carob. It does not contain caffeine which makes it perfectly safe for dogs to eat. It is high in antioxidants, rich in fibre and contains important nutrients including a variety of vitamins and minerals. While it is also low in fat and sugar, carob should only be used as a special treat, not part of your dog’s daily diet.
